National Civics Bee

About the Bee The Alle Kiski Strong Chamber is partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to host a Civics Bee competition on the local level. This competition encourages young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities. Participating 6th, 7th and 8th graders will flex their civics knowledge for a chance to win recognition and cash prizes. Finalists from the local level will be invited to Harrisburg to compete on the state level. State level finalist will be invited to Washington, DC to compete in the National Civics Bee championship. How it Works Students will write an essay proposing ideas for improving their community. They will submit their essay by February 4. Top-scoring essay finalists are invited to compete at local and state bees happening in Spring-summer 2025. The top winner from each state receives a trip to Washington D.C., to compete in the National Championship in Fall 2025. PRIZES National Championship State Finals 1st Place $100,000 1st Place $1,000 2nd Place 25,000 2nd Place 500 3rd Place 15,000 3rd Place 250 Local Bees 1st Place $500 (Amounts Shown are the 2nd Place 250 minimum to be awarded) 3rd Place 125
